Florida Legislative Updates That Impact Public Education

Testing Days

Dear Parents and Students,

FSA Testing will commence Tuesday, April 18 and will run consecutively through the different grade levels. 

Seventh grade will begin testing on Tuesday, April 18th and will end testing Friday, April 21st, and with its Civics EOC Thursday, May 11th. 

Sixth grade will begin testing Monday, April 24th and will end testing Thursday, April 27; and eighth grade will begin testing Monday, May 1st and end testing Friday, May 5th. 

The Algebra EOC exam will take place Monday and Tuesday – May 8th & 9th, the Biology EOC exam will take place Wednesday, May 10th, and the Geometry EOC exam will take place Thursday and Friday – May 11th & 12th. 

Please make sure your child is in attendance and on time each relevant testing day, has had a good night’s rest the night before his exams, and eats a healthy breakfast each morning. 

We are very proud of all of our students for their continuous achievements, and wish our Falcon Cove families a productive testing season.

Parent Engagement Conference

The Parent/Community Involvement Task Force and the Office of Family and Community Engagement will convene the bi-annual Parent Engagement Conference on Saturday, April 29thfrom 8am – 12noon at
Ft. Lauderdale High School.
This event, 411 on Parent Engagement, will feature valuable information for parents and school staff. There will be a general forum and interactive workshops.  Free child care services, light refreshments and a Farmer’s Market will be available.

Builders Club

Are you looking for a new club to join?   Do you want to be a part of the largest service organization for Middle School students?  Builders Club is an international student-led organization providing members with opportunities to perform service, build character and develop leadership. It helps in developing important Social and Emotional Skills, which allows club members to understand self and develop meaningful connections with others.  Be sure not to miss out on this amazing opportunity!  Join us on Thursday April 20th right after school in portable 23.  Hope to see you there!
