Course Selection for 2013-2014 School Year

From April 25th through May 6th future 7th and 8th grade students will be selecting and inputting their electives with the help of guidance and administrative staff.  They have been instructed by their science teachers to print out the elective planning sheet, discuss it with their parents and get a parent signature prior to this time.  Science teachers have placed the planning sheet on their websites.  The planning sheet can also be found on the Falcon Cove website by going to the school info link and clicking on virtual scheduling. Once electives have been selected students will bring home a print out of their suggested academic placement and their elective choices for their parents to sign.

Students with an interest in preapproved electives or the 2nd year of a foreign language have already been inputted into virtual counselor based on an application and teacher recommendation.  Teachers who teach a preapproved elective should have notified students that have been selected for their course.  Academic recommendations, foreign language placement and specialty electives will be reviewed with students when they input their electives into virtual counselor.

Future 6th graders will receive their planning sheets from their respective elementary school.  The virtual scheduling process will also be discussed at Bird’s Eye View on Wednesday April 24th at 6pm.  Once future 6th graders elective choice has been inputted into virtual counselor they will receive a print out of their suggested academic placement and their elective choices for their parents to sign.

Waiver meetings will be held on May 16th at 4:30pm and May 22nd at 8:30am for those parents that chose a placement other than that recommended by Falcon Cove.
